This Autumn Season, Take a Step Back from the Turmoil and Dream like a Child… This Chapter, like all the Chapters in The Vinyl Record Collection of Stories, Volume I, will give You that Reason.
Trevor Carte was on a break at Ricky’s Records in North Belle Vernon, a borough in Western Pennsylvania, when he read an article about the Voyager I in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He decides to share the story with his son Trey, who is six. On their back porch on Water Street, Trevor sets a telescope for his son to look into the galaxy for the Voyager I (a spacecraft carrying the Golden Record—music for “Advanced spacefaring civilizations in interstellar space.” -Car Sagan).
Trey followed his directions, peered from the telescope. ‘I think that’s a shooting star?’
‘No son, that is the Voyager I going into the heavens with the weight of the world’s music.’
Trey smiled. ‘The Voyager I with the weight of the world. Yeah dad, I did see it.’
